overview
Our Spring Travel Program is open to all athletes interested in competing at a higher level and challenging themselves in a competitive team environment. This program is designed for players who want to train with purpose, push their development, and put themselves in a position to be selected for some of the most competitive travel teams in the club.
Commitment Expectations
By registering for the Spring Travel Program, athletes are committing to:
- Attending a minimum of 70% of practices
- Demonstrating strong effort, coachability, and commitment throughout the spring
- Being available for tournament selection based on evaluations and roster needs
Team & Tournament Selection
Tournament rosters will be determined based on:
- Evaluations during the first several practices
- Athlete interest and availability, as indicated on the Tournament RSVP form
- Overall team balance and tournament roster limits
While we strive to create opportunities for as many athletes as possible, selection for every tournament cannot be guaranteed. Some events only allow us to register one team, which limits the number of available roster spots.
Tournament Availability Requirement
All athletes must complete the Tournament RSVP document to be eligible for travel team selection.
- Tournaments marked with an asterisk (*) are limited-capacity events
- If an athlete only lists availability for asterisked tournaments, a roster spot cannot be guaranteed
- To guarantee placement on a Spring Travel team, athletes must indicate availability for at least one non-asterisked tournament
We are excited to offer a strong and diverse selection of spring tournaments and plan to bring multiple teams to several events.
Financial Commitment
- Athletes who confirm availability and are selected for a tournament will be invoiced for the tournaments that they are rostered for the week of April 10th.
- Payment is mandatory once selected; no refunds after April 10th.
Making the team:
- Register for the Travel Squad in your designated city.
- FHL asks that all athletes interested in traveling this spring, please fill out the RSVP form HERE! Your RSVP is due no later than March 15th.
- After collecting all tournament RSVPs, conducting evaluations at practices, and taking athletes' initial attendances into account, the FHL staff will send out all tournament teams so that families can prepare.
- The only exception is Regional Club Championship rosters. Those will be announced the week of April 20th. If you are selected for the RCC roster, you will have 2 additional Friday evening trainings (at either Kent or OSU) on water-based turf.
