Indoor Premier Teams

PREMIER:
Program Overview: Premier is the most competitive FHL program, intended for the most dedicated and committed field hockey athletes looking to compete at the college level who are willing to prioritize field hockey in their extracurricular schedules. It brings together the top athletes across the state. Premier athletes practice 1-2 times a week during the indoor season and 2 times a week during the outdoor season. Premier athletes are eligible to be selected for the most competitive USAFH qualifying tournaments - National Indoor Qualifier, National Indoor Tournament (if qualified), and Regional Club Championship - in addition to other out-of-city or out-of-state competitive travel tournament opportunities. Athletes who participate in premier are expected to be available for all practices and tournament opportunities.

Seasons offered: Winter indoor, spring/summer outdoor
Ages offered: U16, U19

  • Under-16 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2009, are eligible.
  • Under-19 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2007, are eligible.
Travel requirement: Travel required for practices and tournaments
Tryouts Dates:
Sunday, November 2nd
Sunday, November 9th
** all athletes will be assigned a 90-minute slot between 10am - 6pm.
** You must attend at least one tryout.  It is not mandatory to attend both.  If you have a conflict with both dates, please contact us immediately to make other arrangements.
Tryout Location: Columbus, OH (4990 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH)

Any athletes who tryout for Travel Premier and are not named to the Travel Premier program will automatically be placed on a Travel Select team or placed on a team in the Regional League.

If you are placed on the Travel Select team and registered for Premier tryouts, you will be reimbursed the $200 difference. If you are placed on the Regional League team, we will refund you the difference in the program fees of $400.

Premier Practices:

- SATURDAY Weekly Team Practices are in COLUMBUS (Bill McDonaald Gym at 4990 Olentangy River Road).

Team practice block from 10-12, 12-2  or 2-4, 4-6, or 6-8 PM on Saturday's starting November 15 - February 14th. Exact training times for each age group coming soon.

  • No Saturday practices on November 29th and December 27th.

-WEDNESDAY Skills Training in Cincinnati (6:00-7:45 PM), Columbus (4:30-6:00 PM), and Cleveland (7:00-8:30 PM).  More details to come in each city.

January 25-26: Sunshine Showcase in Orlando, FL (selected athletes)

February 13-16: U-14 NIT

February 20-22: U19 NIT in VA (qualification required)

February 27-March 1: U16 NIT in PA (qualification required)

Registration includes Premier tryouts, all training academy practices, and recruiting and nutrition webinars throughout the season.

Registration does NOT include tournaments. Tournament fees will be invoiced once rosters are made and specific tournaments are assigned to each team.

Registration does NOT include USA Field Hockey Membership.  All travel athletes must hold a USAFH player membership and be affiliated with "Field Hockey Life" club.  To obtain a membership, click HERE
