Indoor Select Teams

Program Overview: Select is another competitive FHL program, intended for dedicated field hockey athletes who want to further their development, but have less availability for travel related to practices and tournament opportunities. Select athletes practice once a week locally during the indoor season and will participate in competitive travel tournaments - either sponsored by USA Field Hockey, regional tournaments hosted by universities, or other travel tournaments, out-of-city and/or out-of-state. Athletes who participate in select are encouraged to be available for all practices and tournament opportunities.

Season: Winter indoor
Ages offered: U12, U14, U16, U19
U12- Born 2012, 2013, or 2014
U14- Born in 20010 and 2011
U16- Born in 2009 and 2008
U19- Born in 2007 and 2006
Travel requirement: Some travel required for tournaments

Any athletes who tryout for select and are not named to the select program will automatically be placed on a regional team.

Registration includes Select tryouts, all practices, and recruiting and nutrition webinars throughout the season.

Please note: there will be an additional fee that will be invoiced for all tournaments. This fee will be invoiced in November after the rosters are named and tournaments are finalized for each team.

practices

Select Tryouts are:

Sunday, October 29th 8AM - 2PM and Sunday, November 5th from 8AM - 2PM.  

Columbus Select Teams practice at Bill McDonald Gym (4990 Olentangy River Road, Columbus).

U-12 Athletes practice on Sunday's from 12-2 PM.

U-14 Athletes practice on Saturday's from 4-6 PM.

U-16 and U-19 Athletes practice on Saturday's from 6-8 PM in November and December and 10AM - 12PM in January and February.

Practices finish on February 17th. 

  • No practices on November 25 (holiday), December 23 (holiday),and December 30 (holiday).
tournaments

Tournaments for the 2023-2024 indoor season are TBA.  All select teams will compete in 2-3 tournaments against other clubs and outside the team's region.  

Please note that an additional tournament fee will be invoiced once tournaments are scheduled.
