Indoor Select Teams

Select Program:
Program Overview: Select is another competitive FHL program, intended for dedicated field hockey athletes who want to further their development, but have less availability for travel related to practices and tournament opportunities. Select athletes practice once a week locally during the indoor season and will participate in competitive travel tournaments - either sponsored by USA Field Hockey, regional tournaments hosted by universities, or other travel tournaments, out-of-city and/or out-of-state. Athletes who participate in select are encouraged to be available for all practices and tournament opportunities.

Seasons: Winter indoor
Ages offered: U16, U19
  • Under-16 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2008, are eligible.
  • Under-19 Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2006, are eligible.
Travel requirement: Some travel required for tournaments

Any athletes who tryout for select and are not named to the select program will automatically be placed on a regional team.

upcoming practices

Updated Times!  Select tryouts are on Wednesday, November 6th from 7:15-9:00 PM and the make-up date will be November 13th.  All teams will be announced on November 19th.

Cincinnati Select Athletes will practice on Wednesday evenings at Summit Country Day's Athletic Complex from 6-8 PM.

Select Practices will run from November 13th - February 12th.  

  • No practices on November 27, December 25, and January 1.

January 18 or 19: Potential NITQ (qualification required)

February 8: MWC Tournament at Spooky Nook in Hamilton, OH

February 14-17: U-14 NIT

February 21-23: U19 NIT in VA (qualification required)

February 28-March 2: U16 NIT in PA (qualification required)

Registration includes Premier and Select tryouts, all training academy practices, and recruiting and nutrition webinars throughout the season.

Registration does NOT include tournaments. Tournament fees will be invoiced once rosters are made and specific tournaments are assigned to each team.

Registration does NOT include USA Field Hockey Membership.  All travel athletes must hold a USAFH player membership and be affiliated with "Field Hockey Life" club.  To obtain a membership, click HERE
